Please join SEGD, AIGA Minnesota, Larsen Design, and Serigraphics Sign Systems after-hours for an in-depth look at the new Minneapolis Central Library’s exceptionally designed signage and wayfinding system.
Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear from Mike Haug, design director at Larsen; Adam Halverson, director of sales and marketing at Serigraphics; and Walter Gegner, director of library operations at the Library, as they discuss the challenges and creative processes that went into this beautifully designed 353,000 sq. ft. space.
The signage complements the open architecture of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and clearly marks multiple destination points with bold, contemporary signs—particularly in the Children's Library and Teen Central. To highlight information desks, Larsen used the international symbol for information: a lowercase letter i, set off by an LED-illuminated panel. See for yourself how library patrons can easily navigate this magnificent public space using the flat-screen monitors, information kiosks, and multilingual signs!
Space is limited, so register early—by July 17!

A library is a treasure chest to which every citizen has a map. Once inside, however, each visitor begins a unique quest – and signs point the way.
