Simple is…
How does an agency build an international reputation for award-winning design, interactive and advertising in four short years? Discover how mono’s streamlined and integrated approach has led to the creation of innovative work that has crossed disciplines and mediums for a number of clients including Apple, Herman Miller, TurboChef, Sesame Street, Science Channel and Blu Dot, among others.

Built upon the belief that simpler is better, mono helps its clients solve the complexities of today's marketing and communications landscape with powerful, simple and innovative ideas. Since its inception, mono’s work has been lauded by critics as some of the most innovative and creative in the industry.

Work by mono has been featured in industry publications such as Communication Arts, Creativity, HOW, PRINT and ID Design. The agency’s work has also been recognized in various design, advertising and interactive award shows, including the AIGA for 2 Judge’s Choice awards, the Webbys, the One Show, and at Cannes for a Cyber Lion.

After a successful, 12-year career managing the business and accounts of clients that ranged from Harley Davidson to Volvo to Northwest Airlines, Jim Scott joined his partners in forming mono in 2004. As managing partner, Jim’s role is to both help lead the agency’s growth, as well as work closely with clients to define brand strategy and market planning. Jim holds a BS in Marketing Management and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He resides in Minneapolis with his wife and three boys.;

Travis Olson is the design director at mono and joined in 2004. Over his career he has worked on brands ranging from Barbie to Harley Davidson. At mono, he makes sure that every touchpoint of a brand is consistent, interesting and visually powerful. If he’s not at mono, you can find him covered in grease from his two vintage bikes, covered by two dogs (Taco and Ferdinand) or covered with “Kahs!” from his summer softball team, the Weaselhawks.
